ACC Highlights Croda's Solar Energy Innovation

The American Chemistry Council (ACC) is proud to support member company Croda, Inc. in the company?s efforts to save energy and enhance sustainability through solar energy.

According to a new ACC case study, Croda has found a way to dramatically reduce energy use at its North American Headquarters and Innovation Center in Edison, New Jersey through the use of solar energy. The company developed a 305 kilowatt (kW) solar energy system that provides more than half of the energy needed to power the facility.?

More Information

The energy savings at this single location are equivalent to powering 42 average sized homes, removing 47 cars from the road or saving more than 27,500 gallons of gasoline each year.

Chemistry is creating solutions that empower Americans to improve energy efficiency, making our nation?s energy supplies go further while lowering energy costs for businesses and families.? The products of chemistry save up to 11.1% of total U.S. energy consumption, according to an ACC study ? enough to power, light, heat and cool up to 56 million homes or power 135 million vehicles annually. These chemistry products save Americans up to $85 billion each year.?

ACC will continue to share energy innovations from chemistry companies that support a strong, secure and sustainable future.? The ?From Chemistry to Energy? website will feature spotlights that highlight ?The Chemistry of Energy Efficiency? for the next several weeks.?
