Goodbye Galaxy Games is manipulating some interesting variables in its upcoming mathematical puzzle platformer, Ace Mathician. Loads of educational games keep problem solving and game progression separate. With Ace Mathician, the solution becomes the gameplay, as players realize what equations are needed to alter the stage to allow the koala to reach the fruit.
There are no right or wrong answers, suggests the official Ace Mathician site. "On top of that, it helps the player visualize the math, which works much better as a learning tool."
The main development platform is DSi-Ware, but Smits states it could also be ported to iOS devices. The price should be around 200 Nintendo Points ($2). "It would fit the game nicely, since the game will feature around 1.5-2 hours of gameplay," he estimates.
While waiting for Ace Mathician, 3DS and DSi owners can enjoy Smit's previous release and charming one-button platformer, Flipper 2: Flush the Goldfish.
